COVID-19 Tests Available At This Location
COVID clinic provides a no-cost-to-patient diagnostic COVID-19 PCR test for eligible insured, uninsured, and undocumented patients. The diagnostic PCR test should not be used for travel testing. Each patient’s eligibility to receive a diagnostic COVID-19 PCR test will be determined by a physician depending on each patient’s responses to medical screening questions.
When patients pay out-of-pocket for testing, they may be able to receive reimbursement from their health insurance provider for all or a portion of their COVID-19 test. Patients are invited to contact their insurance provider for additional information as to whether they may be eligible to receive reimbursement for a self-pay COVID-19 test and how to apply for reimbursement from their insurance provider.
Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Test Service
This test results will arrive by the end of 2 days.
- This service is used to rapidly detect an active COVID-19 infection in a patient.
- Results are generally reported within 1 hour at most locations.
Covid Clinic utilizes multiple antigen tests in order to make antigen testing more accessible. The antigen test administered to the patient will be one of three tests, but Covid Clinic is unable to guarantee which of the tests will be utilized for a specific patient.
All of Covid Clinic’s antigen test offerings utilize tests that have received emergency use authorization from the FDA.
For Quidel’s Sofia SARS Antigen FIA Test and Luminostics Clip COVID Rapid Antigen Test, the specimen is collected by a lower nasal swab (anterior nares). The cotton swab does not need to be inserted far into the nose, and is rotated in a circle around the entire inside edge of each nostril at least three times. Results are generally available within 1 hour and delivered to the patient via email (with the individual’s consent).
For Access Bio’s CareStart COVID-19 Antigen Test, the specimen is collected by a lower nasal swab (anterior nares). Results are generally available within 1 hour and delivered to the patient via email (with the individual’s consent).
The price for the Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Test Service includes payment for medical oversight, collection site infrastructure, performance of sample collection, test materials, test processing, information systems, result reporting, result delivery, other ancillary services, and other costs incurred by COVID Clinic.
Questions & Answers
IS THE TEST COVERED BY INSURANCE?
Under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, patients are entitled to reimbursement for the cost of COVID testing. While testing may require an out-of-pocket cost, we encourage patients to seek
reimbursement by their insurance companies by forwarding the order invoice that includes diagnosis code, CPT test codes, and tax ID number. A paid invoice can be sent to the patient’s insurance company’s claims department which will determine eligibility for coverage.
WHY DO YOU CHARGE FOR TESTING?
We believe that a patient should be able to test whenever they want, with or without insurance. Many of our patients have been successful in paying for testing and then submitting their invoice to their insurance company for reimbursement. If you cannot afford testing, please fill out our Scholarship Application form for a no-cost test! Scholarships are available each day, based on need. These scholarships are not for same day use, as applications are reviewed each evening after the 7:00pm cutoff time.
